On October 20, 2023, Marcel Holubec W., a Slovak fashion designer, will present his current collection, which will be made available for the first time to the public interested in his work. Thanks to the presented original models in combination with music, stage and lighting effects, dramaturgy, choreography and direction, the fashion show will be a very strong aesthetic and emotional experience with a story for the audience. The author's tour will take place in the center of Bratislava, in the premises of the Old Market.
In 2007, Marcel founded the original brand Marcel Holubec W. atelier de création, profiled for exclusive women's and men's fashion realized as a mix of haute couture and prêt-à-porter. He is a graduate of the Textile Design Studio at VŠVU in Bratislava. In 2013, he was one of the co-founders of Fashion Live!, an event focused on the presentation of current, mainly Slovak clothing design.
He is the laureate of the Tatra banka Foundation Prize for Art 2022 in the Design category for the clothing collection Concréte. In 2019, he won the National Design Award/Product Design Grand Prize for the urban collection for the urban bike brand Suverén. He is the winner of the Top Style Designer competition at Styl Kabo 2007 in Brno for the Pepiniér collection. In 2006, in the ÚĽUV Kruhy na vode competition, he won the 1st prize in the Clothing accessory and jewelry category for the Trend Bags collection of handbags (author's jewelry: Betty K. Majerníková) and in 2008, Honorable Mention for the Secret garden collection.
