Vianočná tržnica - Christmas Market at Stará tržnica
Every December, Stará tržnica transforms into a place where local design, art, books, artisan gastronomy, and a lively cultural program come together under one roof. The Christmas Market has now had five successful editions, with last year marking its highest attendance yet: 55,000 visitors.
Nearly 200 vendors rotate in shifts throughout the 7–10 day event, so there's always something new to discover. Alongside the search for creative Christmas gifts, the accompanying program features concerts, children's theater performances, author readings, discussions, workshops, quizzes, and live podcasts.
The atmosphere of the Christmas Market is always shaped by its decor — an artistic installation with a different concept and idea each year. In 2025, the decor was created by Slovak artist Lousy Auber.
The program also includes the Christmas Street Food Park in front of the market hall, on Námestie Nežnej revolúcie (Square of the Gentle Revolution).
Admission to the entire program is free, making the Christmas Market a popular gathering spot in Bratislava during Advent.
The event's co-organizers are BRaK and URBAN MARKET, with Slovenská sporiteľňa as the main partner.
