On the square in front of the Old Market Hall, a unique city project came to life – up! city. Founders of the project are Volkswagen Slovakia (VW SK) and Aliancia Stará Tržnica (AST) together with their partners – The City of Bratislava, ZSE and cycle courier Švihaj Šuhaj.
up! city presents the first electric car rental service in town. There are seven VW e-up! available, as well as electric scooters and bicycles. You can choose from regular bikes, electric-bikes and cargo-bikes. At the same time, this project also cultivated the square affront the Old Market Hall, where additional seating was installed and the square will now be regularly cleaned and maintained. Last, but not least, up! city has the ambition to become the first step towards a city system of car sharing.
